I think it’s really important to advocate and trust your gut. So if you feel like something’s not right, speak up.

The care team wants to hear. Everyone’s on the same page of wanting the best for the patient. They just sometimes have different ways of how they see that going.

But you as the loved one, the care partner, probably know your patient better, sometimes even more than the patient knows them selves.

And so advocating for them, speaking up when you feel something isn’t right and helping get a clear understanding of whatever the treatment is, what the side effects are — it’s so important.

You can get educated in advance. So that helps empower you to be a better advocate.
