Don’t be afraid to have that tough conversation about relapse and refractory.
A lot of patients, and some doctors — some doctors don’t tell patients that your cancer will come back. And when they don’t hear that from a specialist, it’s tough to accept that when it happens.
When your cancer does come back, now it puts them in a funk. A mental status where they didn’t want to be because they didn’t never expect that it was going to happen.
So don’t be afraid to have that question at the beginning and then you can work on stuff in the long run toward that.
